The Salt River district, Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts has over 4,000 scouts and leaders. Troop 357 participated in RRR in 2000 and was able to raise $1000+ by selling hamburgers at the event. They also paddled Noah's Ark in style to win the "Best Dressed Team Award." Home Base Youth Services provides a safe environment for homeless, runaway, and throwaway youth to learn essential life skills that lead to healthy and independent living. The cornerstone values are accountability, integrity, and respect.
Half the money will go to the Transitional Living Center which serves approximately 100 people a year for alarm clocks, towels, school supplies, shoes and books. The remainder to their Outreach Center to purchase individually packaged high protein food, which they distribute to kids who live on the streets in their nightly roundup.
